The Pennsylvania Prescribed Fire Council will be hosting a Burn Plan Writing Workshop on February 3–4, 2026, at Bald Eagle State Park. This free, two-day workshop will focus on practical burn plan development with an emphasis on agency requirements.

About the event
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This free, two-day, instructor-led workshop will focus on developing practical skills in prescribed fire planning. It is intended primarily for agency personnel but is open to all individuals interested in advancing their burn planning knowledge.
Participants will learn essential burn plan components, gain exposure to the Behave 7 fire modeling system, and work through a site-specific burn plan using real-world conditions. Some outdoor field visits are likely and lunch will not be provided, so be sure to plan accordingly. Students must bring a laptop.
The anticipated workshop hours will be 0900–1600 on Day 1 and 0800–1400 on Day 2.
